My iPhone App is not working. It wont even openThis means that your iPhone does not have the latest version of iOS installed on it.
Simply go into Settings
Select Software Update and Update your iOS to the most current version.
The Landtracker App will now function properly.
Using the
Landtracker Software
The buttons at the top are used to select which type of conversion you would like to perform.
DLS denotes Dominion Land Survey Coordinates which comprise of Legal Subdivisions, Townships, Ranges and Meridians.
BCNTS denotes the British Columbia National Topographical System.
To enter an LSD, first select the DLS button and then simply press any field to bring up the scroll wheel. This will be used to select your coordinate.
Using the
Landtracker Software
Simply scroll through each series of coordinates until you are satisfied with your entry. Changing each value will show a corresponding change in the header coordinate which is on the top of the scroll wheel. For quarter section coordinates it will automatically set the LSD coordinate to 1.
When you are satisfied with your entry simply tap anywhere outside the scroll wheel box. This will take you back to the main screen. To convert the coordiante you selected press the convert button and it will display the latitude and longitude of the value you selected. In this case 1-1-1-1W1:
Using the
Landtracker Software
To VIEW the coordinate Google Maps simply press button associated with the LSD
Using the
Landtracker Software
This is the view screen. The purpose of this screen is simply to view the LSD on a map, not to get driving directions
Using the Landtracker Software
If you rotate your phone 90 degrees you can see the map view and have all the other features of the app accessible as well. This allows you to quickly view multiple locations.
To exit from this view simply tap the back arrow located at the top left of the screen.
To get directions, copy the lat./long. to the clipboard or delete the entry tap on the three vertical buttons.
To export this coordinate to either Google Maps or Apple Maps tap on the export button.
Select Google Maps to Export to Google Maps
To get directions tap on the blue Route button.
Either enter your starting address or simply tap on your location to get directions from your current location.
Press Start and you are on your way
To save a coordinate as a favourite tap the heart to the left of the coordinate. (Pro version Only).
To access your favourites tap on the heart on the top right of the screen.
Tapping the three vertical dots allows you to rename, copy or export your favourites.
Reverse Converter
To perform a reverse conversion first tap on the REVERSE button at the top left of the screen (1).
Either aquire your current latitude/longitude by pressing the GPS button (2) or simply ener the coordinate manually (3).
Tap on the convert button (4)
For the BC NTS Coordiantes its the same procedure as above except you select the BCNTS button initially.
Looks like the Google Maps API is broken again so please go to settings (three vertical dots on the top right of the screen- tap on that and then settings). DISABLE Export labels to maps app and then the program will work until Google fixes their API. Then you can turn the labelling feature back on.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL LANDTRACKER TO YOUR DEVICES MAIN MEMORY AND NOT THE SD CARD. IT WILL NOT WORK WHEN INSTALLED ON THE SD CARD.
We put in a fix for the reverse converter again. You now have the ability to use a high accuracey or a low accuracey setting on your device. This feature can be accessed through the settings dialog.
We added Russian language Support for one of our users
We added the ability to turn off labeling. This is for old versions of Google Maps that will not accept the labelling functionality. This feature can also be accessed in the settings menu.
We put in a fix for the reverse converter so now it wont pulla GPS coordinate unless the accuracey is less than 50m. This should provide for some very accurate results.
We also put a fix in for the latest Google Maps update. So if you are running less than version 7.0 everything will be the same. If you are running 7.0 or greater than the only thing that changed is that Landtracker will bring you to the center of the LSD in Google Maps but you need to tap the screen and create your own drop pin to get the directions to the well. Unfortunately, this is a result of the new update to Google Maps. They also took out the range and township road labels. We have lobbied Google to put the labelling back in so hopefully that happens!
For the reverse converter on Droid and BB:
When you click on get location it passes the immediate location of the GPS module. Even if it has a poor fix. We are going to update the code to wait for an accurate fix.
So the workaround is simply use Google maps or any other program that uses the GPS until you see your actual location. Once an accurate GPS fix has been acquired, click on the get location button in Landtracker and you will be good to go.
There is a new version of Google Maps that has just been released. If you do the upgrade you may experience issues as it may not be able to "find" the coordinate. To remedy this, simply uninstall and reinstall the Google app and it will work fine.
Using the
Landtracker Software
The tabs at the top are used to select which type of conversion you would like to perform.
LSD denotes Dominion Land Survey Coordinates which comprise of Legal Subdivisions, Townships, Ranges and Meridians.
- To Enter an LSD simply select each field and select the corresponding entry. When you are done select the convert button.
- If you wish to select a Quarter Section Simply select the Quarter and it will automatically change the LSD to the value of 1
Once you have selected the convert button you are provided with the latitude and longitude coordinate corresponding to the LSD.
To save the coordinate for future use as a favourite please select the Heart Icon (5) next to the coordinates that were converted. You also have the option of copying the coordinate to the clipbopard by pressing the copy button (4)
- To view a list of your favourites select the heart button (1) at the top of the screen.
To show the coordinate in Google Maps simply click on the map icon (2) located at the top of the screen. This will launch Google Maps on your browser and will display the coordinate as a push pin. If you have loaded other Navigation Apps such as Map Quest, the program will ask you which program you would like to use. Bear in mind that it will not necessarily work with all the navigation apps you are using but it works with MapQuest flawlessly and its a free app. If you are having issues with displaying the coordinate in Google Maps try and deactivating "Export Labels" in the Settings dialog. This can be reached by pressing the settings button (3).
So lets assume you are using Google Maps and you get the following screen.
To get directions to the pushpin from your current location simply click on the Directions button.
Once you have clicked on the directions button the next screen will ask you if you want to navigate to the location or simply get driving directions to the location. Simply click the button to navigate.
Accept the navigation terms below.
This will provide a route to the well location.
You can now follow the outlined route with your device:
For the BC NTS Coordiantes its the same procedure as above except you select the BCNTS tab.
For the Reverse converter simply press the "Get Current Location" button and then press "Convert". If you are having problems getting a lat/long then go into the settings dialog by pressing the settings button (3) and disable "Use detailed location". This should resolve the issue.
